Shift Production Manager - West Yorkshire
Job Description: We are currently looking to recruit a Shift Production Manager to join our team in West Yorkshire. The main purpose of the role is to assume responsibility for all production issues operating within safety, hygiene, Quality, Quantity and Cost, and ensure maximum profitability in the area.
Key Responsibilities: Promote a safe working environment and ensure safe working practices are observed. Risk assessments completed and reviewed routinely. Complete accident investigations, as required. Ensure a positive attitude towards food safety with emphasis on legality, performance and quality control. To ensure processes are correctly followed, which are critical in maintaining the food safety, minimising out of specification products. Implementing technical procedures to ensure compliance with critical control points and good manufacturing practices. Ensuring the team maintains high standards of personal hygiene. Management of documentation and procedures to ensure all traceability/quality requirements are maintained. Ensure all quality attributes are followed throughout the factory. Ensure all plans are delivered on time, in full, following agreed schedules. Directly manage and control operational labour and material costs in line with budgetary forecast. Encourage continuous improvement through application of Lean Manufacturing techniques. Develop and maintain strong directional leadership across the site ensuring effective coaching and development of all team members. Promote a culture of effective team work and communication through regular one to ones and inter departmental meetings. Ensure workforce is trained and multi-skilled so the business has adequate continuity and flexibility to react to changing circumstances including succession planning.
Practical Experience: Operational experience, which should be in management together with significant technical exposure, gained in a chilled/short shelf life category. Experience of modern manufacturing practises including lean manufacturing, gained within an FMCG environment. Ability to demonstrate examples of cost reduction achievements within an FMCG environment.
Salary: In region of 28,000 p/a (DOE) BENEFITS Hours: 2 DAYS, 2 NIGHTS, 4 OFF
